The No.11 Bus

Yesterday, I had a hair appointment on the other side of London, in the south west. No matter how I routed it, it was going to be a long ride, so I figured it might as well be a scenic long drive! By taking the no. 11 bus from Liverpool Street Station, I managed to cross off 190 through 224 from the 2012 things to do.

I have to admit, this bus gave me an amazing crash course on the main sights of London, and for a tenth of the price of a tour guide bus!

The first sight that caught my eye (I forgot the book at home! woops!) was St. Paul's Cathedral

It was hard not to see, but that's not a bad thing! It's a gorgeous old building (as most buildings are in London), and if you sit at the very front of the top desk as I did, you get a great view of it coming up at you!

Next, We went by the Tent City University, a part of the Occupy movement, which is still up and running apparently!

A bit further along, I heard the name of a stop, and I didn't believe it!

Sadly, there were no shoe stores to be seen. I almost got off the bus to check!

Next we passed by the Courts of Justice,

and then we were at Trafalgar Square! This area is gorgeous, with fountains, the National Gallery, and much more! Even though the weather wasn't ideal, there were people there en masse!

Now, we're finally on to the picture of the day from yesterday. The impressive big ben. Unlike the Pyramids of Giza, which were much larger than I expected, I expected the tower holding the clock to be much taller, more on par with the Peace Tower.

Soon after, we were at the Houses of Parliament, which is exciting if you're a weird person like me,

as well as a War Memorial

Finally, we made it to Westminster Abbey!

This tour just whet my appetite to go and explore these places more thoroughly, and to make it to Buckingham palace ASAP!

Leave me a comment and let me know where you want me to go next!
