Borough Market

So really gorgeous weather hit London last Thursday; I could hear screams of joy coming from every corner of the city! Because of this, Matt and I made tentative - and extremely risky - plans to visit Borough Market the next day when he was finished work.

Friday came, and the weather was still the same; sunny and warm! Matt got home, and we decided to get going. Our main objective of the afternoon was to find Cheese Curds.

While we didn't manage to find any, the day was still a win because we found something I never imagined I would find during my time in London, but that comes later.

We started planning our outing, but to get from home to the market quickly is fairly impossible. It's either 30 minutes by tube, 33 by bus or 35 walking. I get cooped up at home all day, so I got Matt up off his butt and got him to agree to walk!

This was no easy feat for me. As many of you know, I hate bridges. They're scary. I don't like them, and with so many tales of bridges in London falling or wobbling, the route took special planning. There are two bridges between here; Tower Bridge and the fabled London Bridge. I think it is pretty clear which one I chose!
After our walk, we finally arrived!

We walked around for a while, stopping at every cheesemonger we could find, but alas, no curds.

Eventually, we just decided to get lost. Or rather, I asked Matt what he wanted to do, he had no idea, so I just started wandering! By doing this we found some interesting things...

While we were looking for the delicious cheese curds for my delicious poutine, Matt took me down a side street to Neil's yard dairy. While we were walking up, I noticed a German shop across the street, so that was our next stop.

Just as we were about to leave, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I had found the holy grail of the North American sandwich... Miracle Whip!

Well, it was really Miracel Whip, but that's the same thing, it just looks face. I have been trying to find a way to get it here in London without paying insane shipping fees or making someone smuggle it across the border.

So after we finished enjoying the names of the stalls (see above) we decided to head home, me with my miracle whip and the insatiable urge to eat my delicious veggie sandwich.
